Locations.
this our idea for a 1920's movie. Called "Black Thursday". The plot is shown within the mind map we can up with in class. The main character is called "William Crockfield" Male, ages 22, with black hair and blue eyes. Hes not very strong or built for combat within this after world action! Having a bad upbringing has made it that William does not understand the concept of right and wrong, making his mental state rather distressed. he wants to be better than what he is, but is unable to reach his goal within the set life style he has. Wanting revenge on others who doubt him or get in his way of his wishes.
To create tension we would add back ground music, shadows and dim lighting. Not revealing the main character till the end of the movie to make a mystery for the audience. Having made this monster as an unusual and non stereotypical traits of the normal character. Opposite to William.

LESSON WORK-
single and multiple camera shots. single shot- Only using a mobile camera from only one. Having to film the scene twice to be able to work out the different angles within the shot. The benefits of this are, its quicker, cheaper as there is only one camera to pay for. multi shot- Using more than one camera to film from different angles, having the directer chose which camera is shown for the screen as they all film the same screen. The benefits of this is that it takes less shot time, if theres an expensive scene it means they don't have to do a second time. our attempts- EVALUATIONS- THE PURPOSE?- the purpose of us trying out our own single shot camera angles is to see how it works, and to see if its a good technique to use during shots. You have to say the exact same speech, in the same tone of voice etc so that the director is able to edit them to look realistic and so it flows correctly. Using the single shot means that you're able to move in around more and unlike the multi shot, it doesn't have to stay in one place. Trying it out for ourselves was rather helpful as we found it better to get to grips with, and see how difficult it is to get the right angle shot. We found the task slightly difficult at first as improvising the speech to be the exact same both times, and not laughing during the process, but finding the right angles to show each other talking at different times was interesting and pretty easy. To improve next time i'd say to have a more detailed conversation that went on for a bit longer, and to have more time to plan it so both people within the performance doesn't feel uncomfortable and under pressure. |
Making our own 1 minute movie-
This is our attempt of a crime 1 minute movie clip. Using different angle shots and camera effects to manipulate the audiences view. This was taken by multi cameras, and using techniques such as following, point of view, and over the shoulder.
This is our period drama, created while being in college. Using the manipulation of costumes, and props, if we could re do this and change anything with more time would of used a different location to make it more realistic.
