Forms of adverts

Stand alone adverts-
It is a form of advert that is a one off, there will not be another advert by the same company that is related in terms of the story, everything is different so this could be an example of any advert that does not have a follow up, or a reminder of the previous advert. This would be an example of this because there is not a follow up story of the situation and it is only remembered of having this one type of story line. |

Series adverts-
An advert that is part of a series has a constantly developing story. The series usually has a main character and additional characters, that will be remembered over years by being classed as to selling that precise product. An example of this would be BT as it is always the same family using the brand and having a different story within the advert based around similar things. This has an emotional response with the audience because they would relate to the family situation and have a connection with the characters as they are the same all the way through. |

Animation adverts-
This is quite a large category with many advertisers use because its easy, less costly and uses less crew members. It means that the directer can manipulate the audience to think something is happening, such as a talking dog. It opens up doors to more viewers as all ages could be interested in watching animated production. |

Talking head adverts-
The characters talking directly into the camera, making the audience feel as though they are directing the message at them. Could be seen as getting the message across quicker and feeling like they seeing the scene right infront of them. |

Realist Narrative adverts-
it appears to be set in real-life, something that people could easily relate to and the situation seems as though it could happen. Something that the audience is able to see themselves being in this situation. |

Anti-Realist adverts-
Something that could not be possible to happen, imagination is lead to engage the viewers, it is obviously fictional. |

Documentary adverts-
To give a serious outlook on a situation, making people think the truth is being told as its a detailed story line. They use real life situations to play on our emotions that make us feel sad for those involved in the clip, and want to help out that situation. |

Surreal adverts-
Something that isn't realistic and wouldn't actually happen. A big example of this would be the skittles advert. This is impossible to happen to be able to turn things into skittles with a touch but, the story line involves this to have a humorous aspect. |

Periodic adverts-
Something that happens over time, to show the audience something being used over years which would make them buy it. The main target audience for this would be the older generation as it is more likely they will be able to relate to that situation. |

This advert was blocked because the public believed it was promoting unhealthy eating, as the child takes out the salad from the bun. Which could encourage other children to do the same and have unhealthy lifestyle choices with food.

Cheryl Cole would be used in this advert to convince the audience that if they use this product, they will end up looking like her, and having the same confidence to go out like she does. People that do not have a brilliant social life would think big of this, and think to themselves that they could live the same life as her if they brought the same products. The advert would bring in alot of money for the celebrity and also they would become more regconised because the general public would see their face on the television, making Cheryl more popular and respected. The brand is linked to Cheryl because shes very classy, and sophisticated and this product from the advert comes across as that, and looks like a product that rich famous people would buy. when she was reportedly paid £500,000 to represent the beauty giant in Britain for each advert.

This is the use of many celebrities, this is to get their message across by grabbing their attention involving recognizable people. Its convincing the audience to do something but standing in a white background room, and having a person standing in the middle talking to the camera man telling the actor what to say. This could be seen as a humorous advert as well as trying to be serious and get the facts across. The advert would show people that may not be staring in films regularly, or forgotten about by the public, meaning they are seen and having a more likable response from the public. The advert isn't really linked to the celebrities but they all have the ability to vote themselves, showing the audience that if they do it, then so should they. They would all be paid the same amount, for the same staring in the advert but would be at a reasonable amount.

There is David Beckham and Kevin Hart. This is a contrast of characteristics in which the audience could enjoy. David Beckham for his looks and Kevin Hart for the humor. It makes people remember the clothing product they are trying to sell when they walk past the shopping center, and think to go in there because of the humorous advert. The advert is linked to the celebrities involved because they are wearing the clothes, and on a photo shoot showing off these products. The celebrities would get paid around £300,000 each from doing this one campaign and advert.
